How are your thoughts?

The time is near when all things will end. So think clearly and control yourselves so you will be able to pray. 1 Peter 4:7 (NCV)

the battle is not your battle

Jehoshaphat’s army went out into the Desert of Tekoa early in the morning. As they were starting out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, people of Judah and Jerusalem. Have faith in the LORD your God, and you will stand strong. Have faith in his prophets, and you will succeed.“ 2 Chronicles 20:20 (NCV)

opportunities

“Therefore, everyone who hears what I say and obeys it will be like a wise person who built a house on rock. Rain poured, and floods came. Winds blew and beat against that house. But it did not collapse, because its foundation was on rock. Matthew 7:24-25 (GW)   Be grounded and grow in the wisdom I provide. I have created all things. In my ways are life and abundance. Do not let your hearts be troubled. I am yet the God of the miraculous. My protection is for those who know me through relationship.   Rains and storms are not new. They will become opportunities; avenues for my work to be seen through those who know me. My light will flourish in the darkening days.   Playing fields will be leveled; walls will crumble and fall. Yet my people will be safe upon the foundation only I can provide.   Build upon what I am establishing. I am your firm foundation.

measuring post

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord!' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the person who does what my Father in heaven wants. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name? Didn't we force out demons and do many miracles by the power and authority of your name?' Then I will tell them publicly, ‘I've never known you. Get away from me, you evil people.' Matthew 7:21-23 (GW)

Prophecy and parables…

All these things Jesus said to the crowds in parables; indeed, he said nothing to them without a parable. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet: “I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.” Then he left the crowds and went into the house. And his disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.” Matthew 13:34-36 (ESV)

a direction for prayer

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:1-4, NIV

giving thanks

He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They replied, “Seven.” Then he directed the crowd to sit down on the ground. After he took the seven loaves and gave thanks, he broke them and began giving them to the disciples to serve. So they served the crowd. They also had a few small fish. After giving thanks for these, he told them to serve these as well. Everyone ate and was satisfied, and they picked up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full. There were about four thousand who ate. Then he dismissed them. Mark 8:5-9 (NET)

living in the light

Let nobody deceive you with empty words, for because of these things God’s wrath comes on the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them, for you were at one time darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light — for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth — trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For the things they do in secret are shameful even to mention. But all things being exposed by the light are made evident. For everything made evident is light, and for this reason it says: “Awake, O sleeper! Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you!” Ephesians 5:6-14 (NET)

Is he the Christ?

As He was teaching in the temple complex, Jesus cried out, “You know Me and you know where I am from. Yet I have not come on My own, but the One who sent Me is true. You don’t know Him; I know Him because I am from Him, and He sent Me.” John 7:28-29 (HCSB)

Those who come in

Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:9-10 (NLT)

If you receive

If you receive a prophet as one who speaks for God, you will be given the same reward as a prophet. And if you receive righteous people because of their righteousness, you will be given a reward like theirs. Matthew 10:41 (NLT)

Do you believe?

God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 (WEB) For everything spoken by God is possible. Luke 1:37 (WEB)

you are of great value

What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31 (NLT) We have a small deck extending from our second story bedroom window. As I pulled back the blinds I saw a sparrow lying in the deck chair. It brought me back to a noise I had heard the just-previous afternoon. It had been sunny and as sometimes occurs, the hawk visits our area and the birds quickly scatter. This sparrow had seen the open space and met its death in the glass, falling back into the chair where I saw it. This verse from Matthew 10 was quicken to me. It reverberated a message for you. Seek after me and my ways. Find your self secure in the way I have created you. Spread forth your wings into flight. The more you strengthened yourself in me the further you can move in what I have shown you

judging

“Don’t judge other people, or you will be judged. You will be judged in the same way that you judge others, and the amount you give to others will be given to you. Matthew 7:1-2 (NCV)

The team: Wisdom & Understanding

Get wisdom and understanding. Don’t forget or ignore my words. Hold on to wisdom, and it will take care of you. Love it, and it will keep you safe. Wisdom is the most important thing; so get wisdom. If it costs everything you have, get understanding. Treasure wisdom, and it will make you great; hold on to it, and it will bring you honor. It will be like flowers in your hair and like a beautiful crown on your head.“  Proverbs 4:5-9 (NCV)
