It's time

It’s time for settlers and pioneers to work together in harmony; to stop exchanging words the enemy speaks. It’s time for the pioneers to move forth, breaking into the uncharted ways of God and the settlers to bring along their families to sustain those who labor.

Quicken your step

Quicken your step. Quicken your response to my urging. It is your destiny to invade the darkness. Move now into the darkness with my pure light. Shafts of my light penetrate the barriers releasing life. As you reach out to pray for the lost, my power is extended forth. My ways penetrate through the lies of the past and create the future which I foresee. Quicken your step to worship me. Become attached to my ways and do not separate yourself from my spirit. I desire to release life and truth. If you cooperate, I can feed those who hunger. I will release fresh vision to poor tired eyes. I can become a father to the abandoned. I have works that I have planned for you to accomplish. Are you willing to bond with me and quicken your spirit to mine? I will show you new ways to displace the darkness. Quicken now your steps to me. Let us destroy the works of the enemy and bring glory to my son. Allow me to clothe you with the humility needed to carry my true authority. Let my son show you the

Shake it up

As I was doing some errands this evening I stopped at the bank. I had just asked God if I could have a word to give. As soon as I asked I heard this phrase pass through my mind, “Shake it up!” I had no sooner asked was that really you or just my thoughts when I looked down. There in the evening sunshine was my confirmation. It was a bright shiny dime. I immediately thought of the shaking scripture in Haggai chapter two where God speaks of the shaking to come. This same passage is referred to in Hebrews 12:26. God says He is going not only to shake the earth, but also the heavens. “Shake it up”. I was surprised by what I found in a word search in my electronic Bible. The initial occurrence comes in Genesis of the New Jerusalem Bible. It is when Isaac is blessing Esau. “But when you win your freedom, you will shake his yoke off your neck” Genesis 27:40b (NJB). John reminds us that if we allow Jesus to free us, we will indeed be free (John 8:36). We will be clean of the hindrances whic

Stirring things up

Then I took the sinful thing, the calf that you had made, and burned it with fire and crushed it, grinding it very small, until it was as fine as dust. And I threw the dust of it into the brook that ran down from the mountain. Deuteronomy 9:21 (ESV). In the span of less than six weeks we can forget Him and the ways he has set for us. In the midst of all we do, God cares for us. Paul reminds us in 2 Timothy 1:6 to stir up our spiritual gifts. We are not to forget God or what He’s called us to do. We have a responsibility to help one another. In Hebrews 10:24 we are told to continuously care and watch over one another how we may stir up to love. In taking Peter’s example we are to hold one another in remembrance (2 Peter 3:1). So why are we reminded one this need? We are too often a stiff-necked people, set on going our own way. While we may become excited by what God is doing, if we take our eyes off of him, we lose focus. The Hebrew people had an outward manifestation of God leading

passover

passover Tonight the cool wind does pass over around and through my dreams as an angel of death searching high blue brown skies envelop the trees like the scenery in an old movie; lips out of synch with words, searching for blood stained door-posts. I hear the voices crying out angry for the deaths of sons; those firstborn, meant to receive the blessing now receive the promise of their forefathers; a bondage none can break. it is strange that I should be allowed to pass over death into life unlike those before me that dark egyptian night

Stir the Fire

Stir the fire. Push through. Stir the ashes away and reach down deep. There is a warmth from me that will never die. Fan those embers to re-ignite the fire. The time to be passive is now past. Now is the time. I am coming. Awaken your hearts to my ways. Open your eyes to look for me. Stir forth the passions deep within you. I am speaking to you. Renew your ways in me. Explore the dreams I have placed within you and see if I will not fulfill them. Are you willing to pay the price? I am coming. Renew your strength in me and not the ways of your past. Stand for me. Speak forth my truth. Bring life into your heart that life may burn true. Turn your ways to me. Look for me and I will be found. I am in your home, I am your night dreams. I am riding in the clouds of the storms. Be not afraid, but recognize me and my ways. Meditate upon my word that revelation can come. I will deposit my wisdom that riches may multiply to redeem the lost. Expect me to work in your behalf. Stir the fire that I

Where are you found running?

How are you when trouble comes? We react in many ways. Sometimes we try to avoid it. At other times we may even act as if it’s not there thinking it will leave on its own accord. We may even want to hide or retreat. What is God’s stance on the matter when trouble shows itself? Have you ever considered it an opportunity for advancement? Let’s take these few verse about David, as a youngster as he was delivering food to his brothers in the army of Saul. The Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field. Then said David to the Philistine, You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the ranks of Israel, Whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will smite you and cut off your head. And I will give the corpses of the army of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all

For the church of Dayton, Ohio

“ Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints; but let them not turn back to folly. Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land” Psalm 85:8-9 (ESV). I speak to my church of the five rivers geography. I speak to those who would hear my voice and move in submission. I am the creator Lord, the Commander of Hosts, “Move forth.” It is time for action; arise to your feet for the time has come for my light to be seen in this dark place. It is time for those who are mine to mature and arise in my ways. Stop the inner complaining and questioning. Do you not know that is witchcraft? I have called you to truth. I am the Lord your God. It is I who will bring the changes. It is through your submission that I can perform my plans. Allow me to work. I am cleansing you, do not resist my purity. I desire to fill you with knowledge, but you need my purity to not misinterpret my objective. I come to bring life. Th

Psalm 85:8-9

Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints; but let them not turn back to folly. Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land. (ESV)

Lessons from the life of Joshua

Joshua was a man who had spent much personal time with God. He was chosen as one of the twelve Hebrew spies who originally searched out the Promised Land before the lengthy delay. He remained faithful, and when it came time for the peoples to move across the Jordan, God selected him as the new leader of the people. There is much we can learn from Joshua, in terms of what pleases God. We often quote words spoken to him, as rhema words for our own battles. We are to be confident and courageous. We see that he learned from example, in that he too sent spies across the Jordan River before taking the people across. More importantly we see that Joshua had a personal relationship with God. They knew one another. We remember the affirmative words of Joshua, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:18). But there can be some other lessons we should learn from the story in Joshua chapter 9. In his parting speeches, God repeatedly had Moses give encouragement and warning about

Do you hear me?

As I was out this evening I heard the Father very clearly pose a somber question, "Do you hear me?" It was not can you hear me, but do you hear me. In two gospel accounts we see Jesus from the cross crying out; not in anger or remorse, but from the separation from the Father. Do we so acutely hear the Father that it pains us when we become separated from him by our sin, or do we even notice? And about the ninth hour (three o’clock) Jesus cried with a loud voice, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?—that is, My God, My God, why have You abandoned Me [leaving Me helpless, forsaking and failing Me in My need]? Matthew 27:46 (AMP). Even in his grief of separation, Jesus staid near the written word, for his cry was taken from Psalm 22:1. Jesus the word, was repeating the written word. Now he asks us, "Do you hear me?" This season is a good time to examine ones self. What is it I have placed before God? What have I knowingly or unknowing allowed into my life that keeps me dull, n

Find the cost

I recently came across this song from the past. It is a powerful two minute song that speaks much to us who consider ourselves to be followers of Jesus. We can forget there is a cost. Find the cost of freedom buried in the ground. Mother earth will swallow you. Lay your body down. (CSN&Y, 1974) We know that Christ paid an ultimate price to redeem us. He laid his body down for us, but there is more. That was the opening which allows us to begin the journey. Look at Jesus’ words in this passage from Luke. For which of you, wishing to build a farm building, does not first sit down and calculate the cost [to see] whether he has sufficient means to finish it? Otherwise, when he has laid the foundation and is unable to complete [the building], all who see it will begin to mock and jeer at him, Saying, This man began to build and was not able (worth enough) to finish. Luke 14:28-30 (Amplified) We see that we are to use our judgment before we begin projects. Jesus wanted to remind those wh
