at the crossroads

I was in an intersection awaiting to turn left recently on my way home from work. As I sat there waiting to turn, I heard the loud blast of a fire truck's horn. I looked about to see it to determine what I should do. I could not locate it. As I looked about, by their lack of reaction, it was as if no one else had heard it.  It was so loud, yet there was not any truck in site.  That brought a pause, for thought. As I pondered this for a few days, I was given a simple explanation and an accompanying verse of warning from the prophet Jeremiah. Be aware. It's time to hear the warning. We are at an intersection in time where caution in where or how we move should be weighed. Thus says the LORD: Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way lies; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, "We will not walk in it." Also I raised up sentinels for you: "Give heed to the sound of the trumpet!" But th

take out the precious from the vile

Therefore thus says the LORD: "If you return, Then I will bring you back; You shall stand before Me; If you take out the precious from the vile, You shall be as My mouth. Let them return to you, But you must not return to them. Jeremiah 15:19 (NKJV)

awakening…

Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it." And he was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!" Genesis 28:16-17 (NKJV) I pray that you might awaken in his presence. That you be filled with the wonder and excitement that derives from understanding He knows you and care about you.

revelation

I am the LORD! That is my name! I will not share my glory with anyone else, or the praise due me with idols. Look, my earlier predictive oracles have come to pass; now I announce new events. Before they begin to occur, I reveal them to you.”  Isaiah 42:8-9 (NET)

what can I do?

When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, "Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?" "Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit," Elisha replied. "You have asked a difficult thing," Elijah said, "yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours--otherwise not." 2 Kings 2:9-10 (NIV) I hear you speaking, but you are asking the wrong question. You must allow your faith to grow. Do not be satisfied with the status quo, but be satisfied in me. I hear you asking yourself, "what can I do?" Alone you can remain bound and frustrated, but with me... Allow me to ask the question of you, "What can I do for you?". Dare to dream. Follow after me and what you see me doing. Follow after my Spirit and grow. Dare to ask for more of me, expecting to receive. Answer as they did, "I want my sight!".  Expect to see things and in ways you've not yet experienced. in your midst

Now at one point the Pharisees asked Jesus when the kingdom of God was coming, so he answered, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed, nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is in your midst.” Luke 17:20-21 (NET)

method for a good harvest

Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God's favor) to those who hear it. Ephesians 4:29 (AMP)

hidden things

I have hidden things which you've not seen. I will open your eyes to them in the appropriate time. There is much for you. I have riches in glory yet to be distributed. Begin to grow: Share me with others so you might gain more. Allow me to guide you into my pathway of righteousness. Learn to recognize and follow the Spirit. He will lead you into the truth of whom I am.  Trust and follow the wind of the paraclete. He is brooding over you. In this time of dryness drink deeply of the water I provide. Fill yourself to be shared with others. Drink deeply of the living water, find your sight with my supernatural ways. Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.  Genesis 21:19 (NIV)

Lift up your face

Lift up your face. You are of great value to me. Do not hang your head in shame or disbelief. Look into my eyes for there is no need to look away. There is nothing you can do to change my heart for you. You have been grafted into my family. Your sin has already been washed away. Hold your head upright and see where I am guiding you. Lift up your eyes and look past the horizon. See with a new boldness. Walk in a new affirmation of whom you are in me. It's time to stop listening to the distortion the enemy sets before you. You are victorious. Lift up your face that I might see you. The LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, "Raise your eyes now, and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward; for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth; so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted.

Are you asking him to stay?

So they approached the village where they were going. He acted as though he wanted to go farther, but they urged him, "Stay with us, because it is getting toward evening and the day is almost done." So he went in to stay with them. Luke 24:28-29(NET)

guideline for interactions

Therefore, if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort provided by love, any fellowship in the Spirit, any affection or mercy, complete my joy and be of the same mind, by having the same love, being united in spirit, and having one purpose. Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself. Philippians 2:1-3 (NET)

the God of peace will be with you

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things. And what you learned and received and heard and saw in me, do these things. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9 (NET)

Consider your ways

Then Jeremiah spoke to all the officials and to all the people, saying, "The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard. "Now therefore amend your ways and your deeds, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will change His mind about the misfortune which He has pronounced against you. "But as for me, behold, I am in your hands; do with me as is good and right in your sight. "Only know for certain that if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city, and on its inhabitants; for truly the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing." Jeremiah 26:12-15 (NASB) Consider your ways and the attitude of your heart. What do you find important, or what is offensive to you? Is your reaction to injustice self-serving or does it align with my merciful ways? I have handed forth both justice and mercy. My scales tip in your favor, yet w

Look beyond

I recently asked God for a word to share, I heard him clearly tell me, "Look beyond what you see." Open yourself to the potential of my ways. Move beyond what you now know as possible. Steward what I shall give you and take to those whom I will direct. Do not be satisfied with what you initially perceive. I am drawing you into more; More of me, more of my grace, more of the ways of my salvation. Open the window so the way of my Spirit may enter. Allow him to blow freely. He will lead you in my ways. He will direct you past the bounds of knowing. Look beyond what you now see with the new vision I have given you. And He said to them, "Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast." And they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, "Every man at the b

on the kingdom

When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. He told them, "The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that, "'they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!'" Mark 4:10-12 (NIV)

As I have called you

And we have different gifts according to the grace given to us. If the gift is prophecy, that individual must use it in proportion to his faith. If it is service, he must serve; if it is teaching, he must teach; if it is exhortation, he must exhort; if it is contributing, he must do so with sincerity; if it is leadership, he must do so with diligence; if it is showing mercy, he must do so with cheerfulness. Romans 12:6-8 (NET) I want you to learn who you are; to become secure in what I've called you to do.  Know me and learn to security of moving as I direct you. I have created and gifted you. You were made and named for my kingdom ways. You will not be satisfied nor secure when you are not set into your proper position.  You will not move in my authority until you know whom you are and how I have called you. Do not compare or measure yourself against another. I am your creator. If I have set you at the gate, then keep alert and do not be caught napping. It is not

direction for the asking

This is what the LORD, your protector, says, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you how to succeed, who leads you in the way you should go. Isaiah 48:17 (NET)
