What about you?

There is still time to get into the boat or wherever Jesus maybe be traveling. Don’t hesitate or feel ridiculous, because following Him will never be as what “they” say or think. As he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. And a great storm developed on the sea so that the waves began to swamp the boat. But he was asleep. So they came and woke him up saying, “Lord, save us! We are about to die!” But he said to them, “Why are you cowardly, you people of little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it was dead calm. And the men were amazed and said, “What sort of person is this? Even the winds and the sea obey him!” Matthew 8:23-27 (NET) Yes, following Jesus will cause instances of panic  and wonderment as you learn to place not only trust in him, but your “whole” self in his direction. It is when we come to those spots of being overwhelmed, we learn another aspect of whom he is. Even the winds and the sea obey him, now what a

the double blessing of Pharaoh

Then Joseph brought in his father Jacob and presented him before Pharaoh. Jacob blessed Pharaoh. Pharaoh said to Jacob, “How long have you lived?” Jacob said to Pharaoh, “All the years of my travels are 130. All the years of my life have been few and painful; the years of my travels are not as long as those of my ancestors.” Then Jacob blessed Pharaoh and went out from his presence. Genesis 47:7-10 (NET)

who you are in me

Long before this time Abraham had dug many wells, but after he died, the Philistines filled them with dirt. So Isaac dug those wells again and gave them the same names his father had given them.  Isaac's servants dug a well in the valley, from which a spring of water flowed. But the herdsmen of Gerar argued with them and said, "This water is ours." Genesis 26:18-20a (NCV) I am the God of your fathers. Look into your past. There you will find a portion of who you are in me.  Go back to the place I shall show you.  Push through, clear away the rubble. Remove the debris from the family well.  Uncap it and allow my water flow through.  My living water will come forth for you to drink and to share. I have waters of living water for those willing to come and drink.

and truth

"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:24 (NASB)

the revelation

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets." "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. Matthew 16:13-17 (NIV)

called away

Sometimes we are called for a time of separation. It gives us space to experience God in a fresh way, away from the direct influences of those who know us too well and may have an unknown influence upon our activities and responses. So Abram went up from Egypt, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the Negeb. Genesis 13:1 (ESV) In being where God would lead us we are more vulnerable to Him. In the desert region we can come to a dependence and hopefully a healthy relationship with the provider.

a new way of looking…

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. Colossians 3:1-2 (ESV)

I will supply

The priest replied to David, "I don't have any ordinary bread at my disposal. Only holy bread is available, and then only if your soldiers have abstained from sexual relations with women." David said to the priest, "Certainly women have been kept away from us, just as on previous occasions when I have set out. The soldiers' equipment is holy, even on an ordinary journey. How much more so will they be holy today, along with their equipment!" So the priest gave him holy bread, for there was no bread there other than the bread of the Presence. It had been removed from before the Lord in order to replace it with hot bread on the day it had been taken away. 1 Samuel 21:4-6 (NET) You are my holy priests. I have called you and set you before me to minister. I will supply what you need. Come to me in your hunger. Tell me of your point of need and see what will happen. All that I have is available to you. You are in training to access more. Less

pulling up tent posts

Are you in the right geographic locale? It matters to God where you live, if you are wishing to reach the destiny He has for you. It could be you need to move? Are you listening to God in this aspect of your life? It is important for yourself and others He’d have you influence. Then God said to Jacob, “Go up at once to Bethel and live there. Make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.” So Jacob told his household and all who were with him, “Get rid of the foreign gods you have among you. Purify yourselves and change your clothes. Let us go up at once to Bethel. Then I will make an altar there to God, who responded to me in my time of distress and has been with me wherever I went.” So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods that were in their possession and the rings that were in their ears. Jacob buried them under the oak near Shechem and they started on their journey. The surrounding cities were afraid of God, and they di

Learning to trust me

You must learn to trust me, and not needing to try understand what I am doing.  What is happening now and will yet be have already been spoken. Don't allow the words spoken through your mouth or your mind affect my plans for you. Perfect love casts out fear. Trust in me for the security you need.

a God who cares

In my anguish I cried to the Lord, and he answered by setting me free. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? Psalms 118:5-6 (NIV)

Do not be blind

Then God opened Hagar's eyes and she saw a well, so she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.                          Genesis 21:19 (NJB) Do not be blind to what I am doing. Allow me to touch you with the eye-salve. I am opening the eyes of the blind; those who seek me will certainly see the working of my authority. Drink fully from the well I shall show you. I am not a respecter of persons, in that none are more important than the least. What I offered to her I offer for you. Come and drink. Share what I give you with others. Thirst for the things which I hold important. Thirst for my approval and not that from others.

between Kadesh and Bered

So Hagar named the Lord who spoke to her, "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "Here I have seen one who sees me!"  That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi. (It is located between Kadesh and Bered.) Genesis 16:13-14 (NET) You are on a journey and I see you in you times of need. I am the God who hears and sees your prayers ascending . I listen to your cries of despair and offer hope. Stand-up - stand firm in what you know of me and I shall surely show you more.  I will open your eyes. You will gain new vision and hope. You will bare sons and daughters of my kingdom. Drink deeply of the waters I am offering you. They have no end. You will not only see new ways, you will experience new supplies. Stand-up and receive from me. Follow my direction and guidance. Ask for more of me.

are you thirsty

But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him unto (into, for) eternal life. John 4:14 (AMP)   Now on the final and most important day of the Feast, Jesus stood, and He cried in a loud voice, If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink! John 7:37 (AMP)

because of our covenant

Moreover, as for you, because of our covenant relationship secured with blood, I will release your prisoners from the waterless pit. Return to the stronghold, you prisoners, with hope; today I declare that I will return double what was taken from you. I will bend Judah as my bow; I will load the bow with Ephraim, my arrow! I will stir up your sons, Zion, against yours, Greece, and I will make you, Zion, like a warrior's sword. Zechariah 9:11-13 (NET) I have not forgotten you. There is much I have for you. Come closer to me and drink in what I have for you. Drink deep of what I am freely supplying. Stop hesitating, I have forgiven you and cleansed you. Rise up in me. Receive from me what is waiting. I am freeing you from the captivity which binds you. I am breaking away the blinders, opening eyes to things you've not yet experienced. My Spirit is bursting through the dry places, I am overflowing those who come to me in need. Ask and drin

look forward

It is time for you to look forward; No longer looking back towards the past.

the message you heard

This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his       life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he  knows everything.               1 John 3:11, 16-20 (NIV)

and the answer is…

"But let your statement be, 'Yes, yes' or 'No, no'; and anything beyond these is of evil. Matthew 5:37 (NASB)
