the words you speak

The words you speak carry weight. Did you ever think about some of the things Jesus said.  Consider his remarks to his apostles in the story in Mark 11.  Jesus was on the end stage of his earthly mission when he said, “...but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them” Mark 11:23b (NIV) What dis it you believe? Which speaks louder to those around you? Is it your attitude towards them? Is it your heart? Or is it the verbal expressions they hear when you are angry? Which expresses what you believe, or think you believe? But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building.  The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this,  then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.  Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”  Genesis 11:5-7 (NIV)

A word for Katherine

Katherine, your name was impressed upon me as I was praying this day. Don't allow the pressures of your family situation affect you. Rise up with what Jesus has told you. Replay those words in your mind so your heart can hear them. Arise from the depression which seeks to overcome you.Speak the truth, eat of the Word. Look to Father and not the circumstances. He will wash over you,  refilling you with waves of refreshment. Ask for more of Him and you will receive. Step into the role he has for you; a leader within his family.

For those who are like me…

This is for those who are like me and want to be more lie Jesus. Stop fretting and wondering why there seems to be a delay, or that you’ve even missed what I have for you. Relax in the promises I have shown you. I am cultivating myself within you; conforming you into the image which will change others. It is me and accept this time of quietness. I have not gone, nor am I upset with you. I have shown you the promises and you will succeed with me.

Draw closer

Draw even closer.  Allow my breathe to warm you.

setting free

…I want you to remove the sinful chains, to tear away the ropes of the burdensome yoke, to set free the oppressed, and to break every burdensome yoke.  Isaiah 58:6

Need to get to the destination?

Then they were willing to take Him on board; and in a moment the boat reached the shore at the point to which they were going.    John 6:12 (Weymouth)

Hearing and responding

...to what do we respond? I was walking our dogs. We came across two ladies who were finishing their walk. They looked at the dogs smiling. One lady said, "Nice boys you have there".  I thanked her and corrected her saying their were my girls.  She stopped and apologized to them saying, "I am so sorry girls."  Upon hearing a key-word "girls", their heads immediately perked up. They responded by walking over to see them, looked up and talked to them.

one more thing…

When you completed what I've asked you to do, there is one more item: When they were filled, he said to his disciples, “Gather up the broken pieces which are left over, that nothing be lost.” John 6:12 (WEB)

How you are seen

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

the thought of Jesus towards his people

How I wish you knew today what would bring peace! But you can’t see. Luke 19:42 (VOICE)

Psalm 115:14-15

May the Eternal prosper your family,     growing both you and your descendants. May the blessings of the Eternal,     maker of heaven and earth, be on you. Psalm 115:14-15 (VOICE)

the land

Instead, the land you are crossing the Jordan to occupy is one of hills and valleys, a land that drinks in water from the rains. Deuteronomy 11:11

Word for this new day

I walked the dogs yesterday, the last day of the year. As we turned a corner, to go up a small hillside they stopped.  They looked at me because of what they heard. There was the sound of an approaching train. They could sense/feel the power as it drew nearer. Excitedly they ran up the hillside pathway to see the train. It was short train and we watched as it passed by on its northward journey.  It was then something caught my eyes. It was the end car. It was not the colour of the other cars in front of it. This car was an unexplainable green. Today, this first day of this new year we walked again the same area. While it was colder than expected, the dogs again carried an  excited energy, one which I did not seem to share. Back home coming into the house, I heard Father speak to me. "Give them a word of encouragement." So though you may think opportunities have passed you bye and the coming year looks much the same as the just-end year, look for me. Seek for me f
