Reach Out

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked;
for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
For the one who sows to his own flesh will
from the flesh reap corruption,
but the one who sows to the Spirit
will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
Let us not lose heart in doing good,
for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
So then, while we have opportunity,
let us do good to all people, and especially
to those who are of the household of the faith.

Look about. I am here with you, now.
Sense my moving and direction. Do not
Be anxious but walk forward where I go.

Reach out. Reach others in my power and 
with my authority. Open your eyes and see 
what I am about to do.

Now as Jesus was passing by, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who committed the sin that caused him to be born blind, this man or his parents?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but he was born blind so that the acts of God may be revealed through what happens to him. We must perform the deeds of the one who sent me as long as it is daytime. Night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Having said this, he spat on the ground and made some mud with the saliva. He smeared the mud on the blind man’s eyes and said to him, “Go wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated “sent”).
