Flooded with Light

I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the wonderful future he has promised to those he called. I want you to realize what a rich and glorious inheritance he has given to his people.

I pray that you will begin to understand the incredible greatness of his power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms.

Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else in this world or in the world to come. Ephesians 1:18-21 (NLT)

I ask that this prayer of Paul seat itself within you. With your heart be flooded with the light of Jesus, He outflows to those we are around. As God is so rich in mercy towards us, so should we too reflect this great example.

We have an inheritance far above our earthly standard of wealth. As we are called to be a light unto the world, we too may cast the shadow of healing. With a rich realization of who were are we can call out to our healer full expecting Him to take action on our behalf.

We are the earthy representation of the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit dwells with us. The veil to the Holy of Holies was torn away for so that God may not be stuck away for those “religious” enough to qualify. He opened the way to meet others. We should use that reminder that the Holy Spirit wants to flow out of us. He is not to be bottled up in our inner self, but is to come bubbling forth. He wants to introduce Him to others.

If we are indeed seated with Him in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6), why should we not expect supernatural experiences? We are reminded that He is the Father of lights and all other spiritual beings. We too are new creatures. We are not tethered to the old ways, but have direct access to Jesus. We have access to the same spiritual powers as He had while He walked this earth.

If we “expect” nothing from God, that is what we will receive. Be excited and motivated by Him. Allow your heart to be illuminated with the love and ways of the Father. May Jesus be your guidepost and the Holy Spirit your friend and companion as you walk in your inheritance. As you spend time with Him, your continence is changed. The light of His glory invades every aspect of your life.
Expand your ways. Call out to God. Ask for the experiences of God, that we may learn more of Him; that we may learn the vast love He has for us. An inheritance only has value if it is used.
