Am I listening or reacting?

I jumped to conclusions and said, “I am cut off from your presence!”
But you heard my plea for mercy when I cried out to you for help.
Love the LORD, all you faithful followers of his!
The LORD protects those who have integrity,
but he pays back in full the one who acts arrogantly.
Be strong and confident, all you who wait on the LORD!

The LORD said to his people: “You are standing at the crossroads.
So consider your path. Ask where the old, reliable paths are.
Ask where the path is that leads to blessing and follow it.
If you do, you will find rest for your souls.”
But they said, “We will not follow it!””
