Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.

Press forward. Move towards the way I have shown to you.

Reach out, believing. Stretch yourself to my ways.

Don’t be like the child who asks, but soon forgets what they had desired.

Ask me and test me. See if I will not answer those desires I set within you.

And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—

you want only what will give you pleasure.
