for your consideration

I waited patiently for the Lord,
and He turned to me, and heard my cry.

He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
out of the miry clay,
and set my feet on a rock,
and established my steps.

He has put a new song in my mouth,
even praise to our God;
many will see it, and fear,
and will trust in the Lord.

Blessed is the man
who places trust in the Lord,
but does not turn toward the proud,
nor those falling away to falsehood.
Psalms 40:1-4 (MEV)

Go out and stand before me on top of the mountain,
the Lord said to him. Then the Lord passed by and
sent a furious wind that split the hills and shattered the rocks
—but the Lord was not in the wind.

The wind stopped blowing, and then
there was an earthquake—
but the Lord was not in the earthquake.

After the earthquake there was a fire—
but the Lord was not in the fire. And
after the fire there was the soft whisper of a voice.

When Elijah heard it,
he covered his face with his cloak and
went out and stood at the entrance of the cave.

A voice said to him, “Elijah, what are you doing here?”
1 Kings 19:11-13 (GNT)
