Gifts in the Sun

This morning, as I went out to fill the bird feeders
I could see nine turtle doves. They sat together
warming in the morning sun. I felt His voice granting
me a reminder. Like the nine gifts of the Spirit
they can unwittingly draw self-attention.

As the gifts of the Spirit are important, as a sole focus,
they can be part of divisive conversation among believers.
We, as a family of believers, can often focus upon those gifts.
We can miss their true value and may fail to move further.

But we need to look internally, and ask “Where’s the fruit?”
They are available to all. They all reflect the true light of the Son.
