Out of the Water

Later, when the boy was older, his mother brought
him back to Pharaoh’s daughter, who adopted
him as her own son. The princess named him Moses,
for she explained, “I lifted him out of the water.”

I have known you before your birth and blessed
you with my name. I have drawn you up, out of
the waters and into my presence.

Walk with me. Lean into me so I can steady
your way. I have places yet for you to be going;
lives yet for you to reach.

My words will come to pass. They never fail. There is nothing I have shown you that I will not perform. Let the water of my living word refresh you.
